Amen Threads

Where did the name Amen Threads come from? 

To answer that simply and honestly, it started out as a play on my first and last name, Alexander Menz. However, it quickly became more than that. The word amen has always fascinated me. It's scattered throughout the Bible several times. Jesus used it when He taught us how to pray. It seems like an important word in Christianity. So what does the word amen mean? Is it simply the way that we close our prayers, like a goodbye? Or is there more to it than that?

The word amen actually means "so be it." It is our way of telling God that as we just prayed, we want it to be that way in our lives. We are telling God that we want our lives to line up with His Word. We are giving Him permission to move and work in our lives, opening our hearts to Him and inviting Him in.
